SEASIDE, Calif. – Head coach #Artie Cairel# released the 2010 Cal State Monterey Bay men's and women's soccer schedules, which includes seven games against teams that were ranked in the Top-25 in the nation last year.
2010 CSUMB Women's Preview
The women's squad will open their season at home against Menlo College on Thursday, Sept. 2 before traveling to Notre Dame de Namur on Tuesday, Sept. 7.
“We have a solid preseason schedule which will prepare our very young squad for the competitive conference schedule,” Cairel said .
CSUMB will host Chico State in their California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) soccer opener on Friday, Sept. 10, followed by a match-up against Cal State Stanislaus on Sunday, Sept. 12.
The Otters concluded the 2009 season with a 4-13-3 overall record (3-11-2 CCAA). Cairel will look to senior defenders #Jessica Pardo# and #Emmi Doniak# to guide the Otters this season. He will depend on sophomore midfielders #Korrie Soares# and #Marlina Massagli# to assist the seniors.

2010 CSUMB Men's Preview
The men will travel to NCAA Division I San Jose State to kick-off their season for the second consecutive year against the Spartans on Friday, Sept. 3.
“We are very excited about the season with our opener coming against SJSU in famed Spartan Stadium,” Cairel said .
The Otters jump right into their conference schedule the next weekend, welcoming the Wildcats of Chico State to the Otter Soccer Complex.
The men's team finished the 2009 season with a 6-11-3 overall record (5-8-3 CCAA). The Otters return a strong backline consisting of All-CCAA honorable mention sophomore defender #Gabe Glass#, #Eli Zamora#, #Max Brixey#, #Beau Villanueva# and goalkeeper #Sam Campanelli#.

Season/All-Sport Pass Information
With the start of the 2010 fall season less than one month away, Cal State Monterey Bay Athletics is announcing a new “seasonal” ticket plan for fans of the Otters. Season tickets will be now be offered in packages for Fall (Men's/Women's Soccer & Volleyball), Winter (Men's/Women's Basketball) and Spring (Baseball & Softball).
Pricing for ticket per season packages are as follows:
$30 for individual pass
$45 for family pass - includes 2 adults and up to 3 kids (18 and under)
CSUMB also offers the All Sports Season Passes for $75 for individual and $100 for family. These passes are good for general admission to all regular season Otter Athletics home games for 2010-2011.
"There is incredible energy among our fans right now," said CSUMB Director of Athletics Vince Otoupal. "We have been able to price these passes in a way that will enable our fans - as individuals and families - to come out and be a part of Otter Athletics.
