SEASIDE, Calif. –Cal State Monterey Bay women's golf coach #Teri Greene# has announced the addition of Salinas native
Keegan Dominguez along with
McKenna Corriea and
Linnea Norton to the 2010-11 roster.
"I am excited about the addition of these three accomplished golfers,” Greene said.
Keegan Dominguez, a graduate of Salinas High School, was named team's Most Valuable Golfer her senior year. She won the Northern California Golf Association Junior Tour Spring Series I Championship at Brookside Country Club in Stockton in May. Dominguez was awarded a First Tee Open scholarship
and an AT&T Junior Golf scholarship.
"Keegan brings a lot of experience to the team,” Greene said. “I am thrilled she decided to join the OTTERS.”
McKenna Corriea lead her Santiago Canyon College team to an Orange Empire Conference title by carding a two-day total 154 (74-80) on the El Prado course. She was selected All-Conference after posting a third-best average (80.40) in the league. A two-sport athlete at Morro Bay High School, Corriea was selected All-County in golf and water polo her senior year. She finished with a 3.5 grade point average to become an Athlete Scholar.
"McKeena is a strong and dedicated competitor,” Greene said. “She will help us continue our journey for a national championship."
Linnea Norton, a native of Scottsdale, Ariz., will be a solid addition to the CSUMB golf team. The Cactus Shadows High School product led her team to Arizona 4A Championship her senior year. This past spring, Norton was the individual medalist in the Junior Girls Association of Arizona (JGAA) Desert Mashie Spring Championship.
"I am happy to have Linnea join our team,” Greene said. “She really dedicates herself to the game and everything she puts her mind to."
This past season, the CSUMB women's golf team made their inaugural appearance at the NCAA National Championships, bringing home a seventh place finish.
