SEASIDE, Calif.
– Cal State Monterey Bay women’s basketball coach Renee Jimenez announced the signing of Tanisha White, a junior college transfer from Merced College, to the 2009-10 roster.

"Tanisha is a versatile guard with great athleticism,” Jimenez said. “Having played for Coach Huddleston at Merced College, she understands defense and how to get stops.

“She is a consistent three point shooter, can put the ball on the floor, can pass and she is constantly talking to her teammates which is going to make everyone better.”

A Central Valley All-Conference second team selection, White averaged 8.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.

White was born in Michigan but grew up in Fresno where she attended Central High School.  She was selected Fresno City Player of the year her senior year.

“For a team like ours that is going to be extremely fast she is going to jump right in and compete for immediate playing time,” Jimenez said. “Tanisha is going to bring more toughness to our team this season and our fans will enjoy watching her competitive spirit."
