Final Results
CHICO, Calif. – The No. 18 Cal State Monterey Bay men’s golf team held on to fourth place with a 29-over par 893 at the conclusion of the final round of the InterWest Wildcat Classic hosted by Chico State at Butte Creek Country Club.
Senior
Ricky Stockton earned a ninth place finish with a 5-over par 221, shooting his best round of the tournament, a par 72 after a 74-75 the first day.
Sophomore
Martin Hardenberger, who recorded the best round of golf for the Otters with a 3-under par 69 yesterday, earning a tie for tenth place (77-69-76-222).
Two other CSUMB golfers secured top-20 finishes, as junior
Jason Simonetti and senior John Jackson ended in a tie for 16th and 18th place respectively. After two consecutive rounds of 76, Simonetti improved with a 73 on the final day to submit a 9-over par 225. Jackson turned in a card with 77-74-75 to finish 10-over par 226.
No. 2 Sonoma State University finished under par for the second straight round to claim the team title, winning by 10 strokes at 9-over par with rounds of 303, 284 and 286.
The Seawolves were led by senior Jarin Todd’s second consecutive 2-under par 70 to capture the medalist honors by two strokes over teammates junior Keith Rodriguez and freshman Patrick Bauer.
The Otters wrap-up the fall season next week, playing in the Sonoma State Invitational at the Santa Rosa Golf & Country Club.
